    Sun: The Philodendron Selloum prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Sunlight filtered through blinds or curtains at East and South-facing windows is ideal. Keep out of direct light and rotate regularly for even growth.

    Water: Water generously once the top 50%-75% of soil has dried, allowing a brief period of drought in between. Water should drain out each time before being discarded. Reduce frequency during fall and winter. Non-tap water is recommended.

    Air: Mimic a tropical environment with temperatures between 65º-80º and a high moisture content. Provide a regular boost of humidity by:

    • Misting the leaves 3-4x per week with non-tap water
    • Adding a humidifier nearby
    • Creating a pebble tray that lives underneath the pot
    • Placement in a bathroom or kitchen, if lighting is suitable

    The Philodendron Selloum is a part of the genus Philodendron, which means “tree loving” in Greek. This genus has around 450 varieties, all of which are easily recognized for their foliage with large green leaves that can grow up to 5 feet long! Their enormous leaves are shiny and create cool-patterned shadows because of their unique cutouts.

    For the best look, provide your Selloum with climbing support so it can grow vertically, climbing up to 15 ft indoors. Planters with a drainage hole are recommended.
